Martin | Slovakia | Christmas | 2024
Dear Friends and Partners,
It is easy to forget that Christmas is not only about commemorating Jesus’s birth in Bethlehem a long time but also is first and foremost about Jesus’ second coming to this world to complete his mission! The certainty of Jesus’ second coming “with power and glory” (Luke 21:25) is the source of our courage and hope when facing present catastrophes, wars, and problems. As Jesus said, “we can stand up and raise our heads” (Luke 21:26) knowing that all the world troubles pre-orchestrate and endorse Jesus’ second entry. Jesus’ second coming and final victory also give meaning to our individual battles with evil. Even though we might lose them, our fights for justice and peace are in vain because we wage war on the victorious side. Every fight for justice and peace is also Jesus’ fight and this war will certainly be victorious.
Our students communicate this decisive victory of Jesus’ coming to this world to their parents and grandparents through traditional Christmas stories. In addition to drama skits, singing, and dancing, these Christmas productions also served as fundraisers to help the needy. In an auction style, students sold their handmade Christmas gifts and food samples to generate funds for the social projects. All proceeds this year will go to the nonprofit organization “Úsmev” (Smile) that provides care for children with various disabilities like autism, Down syndrome, hydrocephalus, polio and other health impairments. Thanks to Jesus’ coming personal fights of these children and their parents are not in vain and we are privileged to help them.
Dear friends and partners, on behalf of our staff and all the students, we wish you a blessed Christmas and thank you for all your support and help. In the face of all the troubles and concerns, personal and worldwide, we are privileged to stand up and raise our head because our redemption is drawing near (Luke 21:28). Jesus will win over evil because at His first coming he already won over death!
in His service,
