According to a student testing program called Komparo, our Lutheran Elementary School in Martin is among the top 4% of all schools in Slovakia! In addition to this, our school is the top school in the entire Martin district.
Komparo tests in three primary areas—Slovak language and literature, math, and social studies. Although the testing is voluntary, 393 elementary schools and more than ten thousand students were tested in 2012.
Komparo testing provides an assessment of education in the beginning of the study process, in the middle, and at the end. Tests verify the level of the students’ knowledge and how it develops over time. The testing concludes by comparing the results of each school.
The fact that Lutheran Elementary School students scored so well shows the value of systematic work and the quality of our educational program. When we factor in the Christian emphasis with a focus on values, it becomes apparent that Lutheran Elementary School is a quality teaching institution in the Slovak system of education.
It is also exciting that Lutheran Elementary School is following in the footsteps of its ancestors—the first Slovak Lutheran High School founded in the second half of the 19th century—which also excelled in academic studies. This is one of the many reasons we are proud of our school in Martin and its students.
We realize that our successes will only continue with God’s help and grace.
