Eagles Wings is a high school choir from the Lutheran Church in Naperville, Illinois. The students prepared a program of concerts for seven high schools in this region. This is the first time this has happened during the 24 years of the choir’s existence. In the choir, young Christians can grow in their faith, meet new friends, and serve by their talents.
Eagles Wings rehearsed with a life-sized Puppet Theatre called Hearts in Puppetry. This was their fourth trip to Slovakia (having previously visited in 1999, 2004, and 2008). These young Christians try to explain the possibilities and potentials of bilingual education (among others in connection with the planned bilingual Lutheran School in Martin) in their concerts. Concerts were held in four Slovak cities – Nitra, Martin, Ružomberok, and Žilina.
The concert raised ten beautiful songs and three short puppet shows. Slovak audiences enjoyed songs like Praise His Holy Name, Rise and Sing, Joyful Joyful, and He Never Failed Me Yet. Among the very favorites were the famous songs Blessed be Your Name, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, and Oh Happy Day, too. Three musical puppet theaters also saw great success and applause.
Eagles Wings Choir is also known for a number of fundraising activities — concerts, flower sales, car washes, food distributions, and other volunteer activities. Young Christians gaining resources for their other activities by yourself through these activities. That is amazing! It is a large and valuable testimony about their desire to sing to God and preach the Gospel to all ends of the earth (Matthew 28:19).

This was awesome and heartwarming. What a neat experience for both cultures in the name of Jesus. I would have loved to have seen it live myself. I leave for Martin, Slovakia tomorrow.
