This month Bethany Lutheran in Overland Park, Kansas chose the CCE as their mission to support with chapel offerings, as they also prayed for us and learned more about our school.
The CCE sent a video tour of the school featuring our American Teachers, Blythe and Tony Barreto, who taught the American students about Slovakia and the mission of the our school We also sent an interview with Slovak students answering questions written by the American students.
Some questions were really simple like asking what kids in another country like to eat and if they have recess. Other questions were about faith and celebrated that even though we are thousands of miles apart, we are still part of God’s family!
In response, the American students sent a video of themselves singing a song that Blythe and Tony taught them via video. The Slovak students were overjoyed to hear that kids all the way in America were thinking and praying for them. The teachers and students couldn’t help but smile watching the Kansas students dance and sing….in Slovak!
“This is a great way to teach students about the Global church and get them involved in missions. I am so thankful for schools like Bethany and their DCE Hannah Lang who wants to share the story of the CCE and pass it on to the next generation. This has been a great experience for everyone,” remarks Blythe.
