Independence Day is celebrated in honor of the declaration of the independence from the United Kingdom. In USA it is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions. This day is national holiday in the United States. We, in Slovakia, can understand this. Therefore we prepared for our friends something really special – Independence Day with fishing☺. Eagles Wings is a high school choir from the Lutheran Church in Naperville, Illinois. The students prepared a program of concerts for seven high schools in this region. This is the first time this has happened during the 24 years of the choir’s existence. In the choir, young Christians can grow in their faith, meet new friends, and serve by their talents. A team of nine missionaries from the Lutheran Church, Lutheran Elementary School and the Bible School in Martin are preparing for “Mission Ukraine”. All participants feel like being one big crowd family with God at the head. This is our fourth opportunity to hear how beautiful and nice it is serve to our God by talking about Him with kids.
