No scene in sacred history ever gladdens the soul like the scene on Calvary.
Nowhere does the soul find such consolation as on that very spot where misery reigned,
where He triumphed, where agony reached its climax, where love gave the grace…
We wish You Easter Blessings

PROGRESS REPORT
Dear Friends and Partners,
„O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things”
(Matt 13:31).
This opening line of the Psalm 98 aptly catches the February vibe in the Center for Christian Education in Martin, Slovakia. The entire school, students, and teachers were singing to the Lord as they practiced for the anniversary worship service on June 29, 2023. As we began it sounded more like a joyful noise but after several rehearsals progress was heard! Our good friend Jan Gilbertson, the former Music and Worship director at the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi, MN, was the key factor behind this progress. For almost two weeks we were blessed to be part of her marvelous music mission in our school. Her passion for Christian music was so contagious that even teenage boys with their broken voices sang hymns like “Amazing Grace” or “Almighty Fortress”. The singing brought much happiness and joy to our school.

PROGRESS REPORT
Dear Friends and Partners,
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed
that someone took and sowed in his field”
(Matt 13:31).
Jesus by this parable explains that God’s miraculous power may be hidden in something so small that people tend to overlook. However, when God is the force behind, even a modest beginning can turn out to be something significant, a blessing to many.
Such is the story of the Center for Christian Education in Martin, Slovakia. It started as a small mustard seed 25 year ago, but thanks to God and His power, it has grown significantly. Its Lutheran Academy started with 25 children and now, 20 year later, it provides Christian education for more than 750.
On June 29, 2023, in Martin Ice Hockey Arena we will celebrate our anniversaries thanking God for His provision and thanking you, our partners, for your support. Please, save the date and join us! The mustard seed has grown; we ought to celebrate!
Please save this date – we would LOVE to see you here!
Yours in His service,
Adrian Kacian, Director of Development Bohdan Hroboň, president of CCE

PROGRESS REPORT
Dear Friends and Partners,
A steady and proportionally balanced growth is usually a very good sign. It testifies that a child is healthy or that an institution’s foundations and operational principles are sound. The same applies to wisdom, character, church, and Christian faith. Therefore, growth is one of the key words of our Lutheran Academy mission statement: In Truth and Love to Grow in Christ in Every Way. This is also our New Year’s wish: May we all grow in Christ in every way, especially in His love and truth!
The growth of our school was the main theme of Christmas party organized by our high school students on December 8, 2022. As witnesses of God’s grace, interviews with Bohdan Hroboň, Adrian Kacian, and Jozef Sopoliga were integrated into the student drama skit about the school’s history for parents, students, and visitors. The school band sang, students performed dances, and the party ended with a reception. Such a great night, when students, parents and teachers were united and reminded of God’s greatness – the fundamental force behind our growth!

PROGRESS REPORT
Dear Friends and Partners,
Reading these words of Isaiah, we think first and foremost of the people in Ukraine who are experiencing darkness of all kinds. Daily blackouts caused by Russian terrorist attacks on critical infrastructure are visible demonstrations of the darkness in minds and hearts of Kremlin establishment. Yet, all these and other blackouts will be ultimately defeated because Jesus, the light from above, has come. He, the true light, is shining in the darkness and the darkness does not have the capacity to overcome it (John 1:5). This is the core of the Christmas message that brings hope to all of us who fight the darkness. Our battle is not in vain, because God is with us and He will be victorious!
