Operating Lutheran Academy in the current six buildings has been a complicated endeavor and in the long term, is unsustainable. What’s more, trying to continue in the current premises would not allow further growth. This is why the leadership at Lutheran Academy came to the decision to purchase the historic Neografia building and turn it into a school. The joy of new possibilities and opportunities accompanied other good news. The Civil Association Against Corruption this year announced the literary competition entitled WE WANT LIFE WITHOUT BRIBES AND CORRUPTION. This second edition of the competition was attended by pupils grades 5-9 to include elementary through high school students from all over Slovakia. Participants were divided into two age categories. At the beginning of October, Matej and Mirko Mlynčekovci will celebrate their eighth birthday. They live in a family house in Sučany and both agree that it is an excellent place to live where they can go right outside to play. “Since childhood we love movement – we inherited it from our father. He has done sports all his life and encourages us to play. Mom takes care of us so that we have something to eat when we get starved from training,” brothers Mlynčekovci say with a smile. The Word of God contains many recommendations for how one should keep on the narrow path that runs with the way of the Lord. One of these recommendations is in Hebrews – “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.” (Hebrews 13,2). Traveling with a church group this summer, I visited Slovakia, a beautiful country with acres of farmland, fields of sunflowers and rows of wheat.
