In April, a builders group composed of individuals from Minnesota and Illinois visited Martin to work on CCE‘s2015 acqusition, the Neografia building (formerly the home of a publisher of Communist propaganda). Although we live in the Information Age, not all of the information that comes our way is objective and true (particularly when it comes from politicians). This month, however, the Lutheran High School in Martin was pleased to welcome a Slovak politician who addressed our school and provided us with honest, valuable information.

Creative people are often asked, “What inspires you?” The answer can be something as mundane as a bumblebee’s flight or as profound as the questions that keep a person awake at night. Inspiration comes from every facet of our lives—experiences, beliefs, nature, technology, even dreams—and fuels our creative output. Some people write, others draw, some make music, take pictures, dance, or perform. There are countless ways humans express themselves creatively. Even cooking can be a creative outlet. On Sunday, January 17, CCE joined forces with the local Lutheran church’s Sunday School ministry to host their monthly “Smarties Party” for children of the congregation and beyond. About 100 children attended. Continue reading
