During Holy Week we take the time to reflect upon the suffering passion and victorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the CCE, we are blessed with the opportunity to share this good news with our students as we proclaim the resurrection message and the God who conquered death!
At the end of every school week the students of the Lutheran Academy not only “thank God it’s Friday,” but also “thank God it’s worship day” as they gather in the hall of the Bible School for chapel. Continue reading
It seems that our school has started a new Advent tradition. In December we learn about people who are persecuted or in jail because they have stood up for human or civil rights. A year ago, in 2015, we wrote letters on behalf of a family who was taken by the Syrian government forces and was never seen again, then for an Uzbek journalist who spent 16 years in prison, and finally a man who spent many years in solitary confinement. We were surprised to hear that many of these people have been released. They were all on the list of Amnesty International and people all around the world wrote for them. That gave us courage to do it again this year and with even more enthusiasm. Continue reading

We talked to the organizer, Tomas Gulan, who serves at CCE as Religion teacher, School band director and Missions coordinator. We asked about today´s event and about CCE´s mission plans for 2017.

Students of the Lutheran Academy find many opportunities to enrich their learning. One recent opportunity—the annual „Unsung Heroes“ project—even resulted in students wining an award for their efforts.
Students and teachers from across Slovakia attended the recent „Unsung Heroes“ conference and met with Andrej Kiska (center), president of Slovakia.
Two students at CCE’s Lutheran Academy have been elected to the Youth Parliament in Martin.
Ján Drahoš and Marek Hulec, both in their fourth year at the bilingual high school, took office in November.
