The Center for Christian Education (CCE) tries to engage people in the study of the Word of God, to help them grow in the personal relationship with God and to equip them to serve in the church.
The need for a CCE came from the situation within the Lutheran Church in Slovakia and other Eastern European countries. Churches did not have religious freedom because of communism. After this hard period of our history, there was a great need for trained church workers. Most Christians had little knowledge about the fundamental issues concerning the Christian faith and life after communism. Our churches needed workers and leaders with more than just a minimum knowledge about the Bible and Christian ministry.
The Center for Christian Education started as the Bible School in Martin in 1998. Next year it will celebrate its 15th anniversary! We hope that existing and potential leaders will continue to take courses at the CCE. There they will get more in-depth teaching from the Bible, teaching and practice in ministry, and they will also experience Christian fellowship that stimulates personal growth.
Our wish is to learn about Jesus Christ – everywhere we go. We also want to accomplish this goal during the summer. With your help this summer in Slovakia was a blessing for more than 300 children and 150 teenagers. The church in Martin is growing because of God´s grace! We are grateful for your prayer and support this whole summer.
